By human measure, Jehoshaphat’s troops were frail,Against the mighty enemy, their efforts pale. Facing the worst, options few and bleak,Surrender or escape, the future did speak. In the face of doom, with options slim,Surrender or flee, mortal outlook grim. Yet Jehoshaphat, with courage rare,
Directed his focus to seek God’s care.
Again and again, the choice is mine to make,To let worries consume or faith to take. Each day presents the same decision anew,Succumb to despair or let God’s truth pursue. For we, like him, in moments of dismay,Must see beyond, where pain holds way. The enemy’s tactics, stark and clear,
Expose its evil, drawing near. This world, not mine, its values apart,In God’s kingdom, I find my heart. In a world like Babylon, where evil reigns,Like Daniel, I seek God, where truth sustains. Though I strive to resist, my strength wanes,Without God’s power, my efforts in vain. Honestly, control eludes my grip,As whispers of defeat in my mind slip. The enemy’s whispers, a constant snare,
Threatening to drown out God’s care. Lord, hear my plea, send the whisperer away,
Back to the depths of the sea, where it may stay.In Your strength, let its voice be stilled,
With Your power, let Your truth be fulfilled. When the enemy’s sneak attack catches me off guard,I question if my strength can withstand it, it’s hard.Doubts creep in, as I wonder if power I possess, To fend off the foe’s assault, in this distress. As the enemy launches its covert assault,
I question my own strength, feeling at fault.
Am I equipped to defend against their sneak,Or am I too powerless, too frail and meek? Yes, yes, curse my weakness, I cry,
When will I grasp, it’s God, not I?
In my feeble state, I yearn to discern, my strength does burn. Oh, praise God, for His unwavering grace,He never deems any challenge too big to embrace.
Nor does He dismiss the small in our sight,
In His eyes, each problem finds its right. Let us lift our voices in praise and exaltation,
For God’s limitless love and His endless salvation. No problem too vast, no burden too small,In His hands, we find refuge from all. In my weakness, Lord, I humbly bow,
Against discouragement’s tide, I vow.
Your light shines bright, in my darkest hour,
With just a sliver of Your strength, I tower. They seek to drain my strength, my soul,
Yet Your power sustains, makes me whole.
In their attempts to dim my light,
Your strength empowers, in Your might.
When God moves on my behalf, none can oppose,No force can win, no army enclose. In His strength, I stand firm and bold, By trust in truth, the ancients gained God’s acclaim,Their steadfast trust, their enduring flame.By trust in truth, we understand creation’s frame,The unseen realm, from which all came. By trust, they conquered, by faith, they endured,
Their faith in God, forever secured.
So let us run with faith’s steady pace,
For by faith, we’ll see His face.
