In the garden’s hush, as others rest,
Past midnight, you’re on watch, the most stressful part of your quest.
Morning creeps, sky still darkly dressed,
Back to the garden, your steps divest.
Your anguish, beyond our view,
Foreseeing trials, but you did pursue.
No fleeing, no hiding, though shadows grew,
You faced it all, for me it’s true.
A feast you spread, midst sorrow’s tide,
Teaching love’s way, though hearts collide. amidst the pain,You hosted a dinner, your love to proclaim.Showing what it means to be a host,In agony deep, yet grace you boast. Amidst the bread, your body broke,
And wine poured out, your love bespoke.
A table set, midst sorrow’s grip,
Your hospitality, never to slip. Oh, gracious host, in agony’s embrace,
Your love poured out, filling all space.
Teaching us still, in pain profound,
Hospitality’s virtue, in love unbound.
The betrayal’s sting, your heart did bear,
Painful emotions, beyond compare.
I’ll never know the depth you faced,
Yet in my struggles, you’ve never replaced.
Instead of pride, you show me grace,
Insignificant problems, you don’t displace.
In my weakness, your strength revealed,
In my sorrow, your comfort sealed.
What a great God you are, indeed,
In every moment, your love takes heed.
Oh, mighty God, your love so vast,
In my insignificance, you steadfast.
You raise me up, from shadows cast,
Your grace, a light that ever lasts.
I am free because of you,
Was Bound by death, but grace breaks through.Sin’s false weight, in grace’s light,
Death’s lament, grace’s embrace bright.
Sin lost hold, when grace was released,
Death’s once cast shadows, but grace increased.Sin’s burden, grace’s blessing told,Death’s a ugly thorn, clipped off grace’s rose. Sin’s storm calmed, by grace’s hand,
Death’s prison opened, by grace’s command.
Your love endured, through trial and pain,
Redemption’s story, our hearts sustain.
In grace we stand, forever true,
Thank you, Jesus, for seeing us through.
